Adult Programs

Read the Book--See the Movie! The Big Read book, Fahrenheit 451
by Ray Bradbury, will be discussed at the
Book Discussion on Tuesday, May 6 and the movie will be screened on Tuesday,
May 13 at 6:30 pm. No registration required for either event.
The Big Read is a national initiative of the National Endowment of the Arts
designed to help reestablish reading as the core of American literature.
Rochester's Big Read book is Fahrenheit 451.

Free Movie Classics! I Remember Mama will be shown on
Thursday, May 8 at 6:30 pm. Come enjoy free popcorn, a drink! No
registration required.

FIRST Robotics Demonstration will be held on
Saturday, May 10 at 10 am. The winning
Churchville-Chili High School FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of
Science and Technology) Teams 340 and 424 will demonstrate their award
winning robot. All will get a hands on look. Registration is
required for this family program.
Registration begins Tuesday, April
22.

The Carousel, presented by Carol Samuel, will be about the history and anatomy of carousels.
This program will be
on Tuesday, May 20 at 7 pm. The care and preservation of the
animals on the carousel will also be discussed. No registration
necessary.

Book
Discussion will be held Tuesday, June 3 at 7 pm. The book being discussed
will be Widow of the South by Roberts Hicks. Book
Discussion is sponsored by the Friends of the Chili Public Library.
This program is free and open to the public. No registration
necessary.

Family Chess! Come and play a game in a
relaxed setting. This program is for all ages - children MUST be
accompanied by a parent or guardian. Games
will be on Wednesday, June
4. All sessions are from 6:30-8 pm.

Scrabble Club for all ages will meet Thursday, June 5 from
3:30-5 pm. There is no registration for this program.
|

Adult CPR training will be held on Monday, June 9 from 6-8:30 pm. The
cost in $35. Adult First Aid training will be taught on Monday, June
23 from 6-8:30 pm. The cost will be $32. If both classes are
attended the cost will be $50. Registration opens on Monday, May 19
for these two EPIC training courses.

Free
Computer Classes! Introductory Internet and
E-Mailing classes will be held on the second and fourth Tuesday
of the month. Classes will start at 9:15 am
and run about one hour. Register at the Information Desk or call the
library.

Children's Programs

|
Family Chess! Come and play a game in a
relaxed setting. This program is for all ages - children MUST be
accompanied by a parent or guardian. Games
will be on Wednesday, May 7 and June 4.
All sessions are from 6:30-8 pm.

Kids Chess Club will meet Thursday,
May 8, 22 and June 12 from 3:30-5 pm. Kids up to the age
of 18 are welcome (children under age 12 must have a parent in the library.
There is no registration.Chess
Club Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 26 from 1-5 pm.
Registration is required.

Children's Book Character Party will be held on
Saturday, May 17 at 11 am. Participants are encouraged to come dressed as
their favorite book character to hear stories, trivia and do a craft. This
program is for ages 2-12. Registration opens on Monday, May 5.

Family Movie Night! On Thursday, May 29 at 6:30 pm, come and enjoy a
family movie! Popcorn will be provided. No registration required.

Father's Day Craft - Decorate a Wallet! Thursday, June 12 at either 6 pm
or 7 pm. This is for ages 2-12. Registration begins on Monday, June
2.

Summer Reading Kickoff! Airplay - Juggling and Comedy group! Monday,
June 30th at 11 am. No registration necessary. This program will be
held outside if weather permits. |

Book Discussions |
Books 'N' Bites, a book discussion for grades 4-6 will be held
on Thursday, May 8 from
4-5 pm. We will be discussing Ida B...and Her Plans to Maximize Fun,
Avoid Disaster and (Possibly) Save the World by Katherine Hannigan. Please call the library at 889-2200

Books 'N' Nibbles, a book discussion for children in grades 1-3 will be held on
Thursday, May 15 at 4-4:45 pm. We will be discussing the book So You Want to be President? by Judith St. George. Please call
