Computer Access at Monroe County Libraries

All Monroe County Library System (MCLS) locations offer public computers equipped with Internet access, Microsoft Office and other productivity software, and access to the library’s catalog and databases. A library card entitles you to use a computer; those without a library card may use a guest pass for computer access.

The MCLS uses Internet filtering software and hardware to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and the Neighborhood Children’s Internet Protection Act (NCIPA ). Each library has its own Internet Access policy which determines the subjects filtered. Adults may access, upon request, legally obtainable content that may be blocked by the filter.

Patrons using wireless devices may access free WiFi networks at any library location. Several libraries offer wireless printing services as well as enhanced wireless access; please refer to your local public library regarding use of their computers and WiFi.

Computer Classes at Monroe County Libraries

MCLS libraries offer a variety of computer and technology classes, one-on-one appointments, and drop-in support hours. Check with your local public library for specific services, or view the list below.
