Your registration will expire yearly and will be updated automatically if your card is current. You will receive an email notification and will be asked to verify your information and present ID upon visiting the library.
It is your responsibility to report your card lost/stolen immediately. You may do so by calling either 428-8180 or your local library. You are responsible for any materials borrowed until the loss or theft is reported. Upon presenting identification, you may purchase a replacement card for $1.00.
It is your responsibility to notify the library if your address or phone number changes. You may update your contact information online, or by phone by contacting either the Central Library at 428-8180 or your local library. You will be asked to provide verification of the new information the next time you visit the library.
Some common reasons that a library item cannot be renewed:
A fee may be charged for each item put on hold and filled, based on individual library policy. If you do not pick up the item, this charge will be added as a fine to your account. Please check with the pick up library before placing a hold to confirm the hold fee policy.
Books not available through MCLS may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. There is a non-refundable $5 fee for each request. The fee will be collected at the time your request is made, or added to your patron account if the request was made by telephone. Payment does not guarantee the book will be received. Contact your local library for more information on this service.
Email notification is available for holds ready for pickup, for overdue items, and as a courtesy reminder for items on your account that will be due in 3 days. If the email notice for an item on hold or overdue is unable to be delivered, you will be notified via the automated phone system, or if the phone call fails, a mailed notice. Sign up for email notification by logging into your account, in person the next time you visit your local library, or by contacting us. Text notifications for holds and items coming due are also available by logging into your account and choosing “Opt-In and Notifications”. You will be asked to provide your cell phone number and carrier.
