The Carlson Center for Intellectual Property is an officially-designated Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC), part of a national library network affiliated with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). PTRCs disseminate patent and trademark information and support the public’s diverse intellectual property needs.
The Carlson Center for Intellectual Property is located at the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County. Center staff can assist patrons in performing their own patent searches and can help you to:
- Conduct a thorough patent and trademark search
- Evaluate an invention’s marketability
- Investigate ways to sell an invention
- Network with other local inventors
Center staff provides free one-on-one consultations and large group training. Email or call 585-428-8110 to schedule an appointment.
The Carlson Center for Intellectual Property is partially supported through a generous grant from the Chester and Dorris Carlson Charitable Trust.
